PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject therapeutic agent effective for intractable acne rosacea, capable of treating acne rosacea active type papula, active type pustule, erythema, etc., low in toxicity, slight in adverse effect, long in durability of pharmacodynamic effects, comprising a specific benzoheterocyclic derivative as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This therapeutic agent comprises a benzoheterocyclic derivative of the formula (R is a lower alkyl; X is a halogen) and its salt, [preferably (±)-9-fluoro-6,7-dihydro-8-(4-hydroxy-1-piperidyl)-5-methyl-1-oxo-1H,5H- benzo[i,j]- quinolizine-2-carboxylic acid] as an active ingredient. The amount of the active ingredient contained in the therapeutic agent composition is generally 1-70wt.%. The objective therapeutic agent is preferably administered dividedly three to four times so as to generally give the active ingredient of 0.2-100mg per kg weight daily. In the case of an external preparation, preferably the active ingredient in an amount of 10mg is generally applied once or twice dividedly.
