There is described a clutch for providing a rotatable connection between the downhole end of a tubing string and a tubing anchor adapted for connection to an internal surface of a well bore, the clutch comprising a first tubular sub having an uphole and a downhole end, the uphole end being adapted for connection to the downhole end of a tubing string, a second tubular sub having an uphole and a downhole end, the uphole end of the second tubular sub being disposed annularly about the downhole end of the first tubular sub, the downhole end of the second tubular sub being adapted for connection to a tubing anchor, and connector means disposed between the first and second tubular subs, the connector means being adapted to initially prevent relative rotation between the first and second tubular subs for transmission of torque through the clutch means to a tubing anchor connected thereto, the connector means actuatable thereafter to permit relative rotation between the first and second tubular subs.
