A method for reprocessing essentially used, generally double-sidedly plastic-coated drinks cartons is described. The drinks carton is first of all shredded by cutting tools in such a way that isolated two-dimensional pieces of approximately 5 cm in diameter are produced, which can be rinsed as far as possible from all sides during a subsequent decontaminating wash. The rinsing agent is drawn from the process and fed immediately to a biological purification. The preshredded and washed carton is then shredded in a second shredding step into small two-dimensional pieces of approximately 8 mm in diameter and subjected to disintegrating forces either simultaneously or subsequently, the plastic coating particles becoming detached from the fibrous material substrate. The thus disintegrated suspension is separated into a fibrous material fraction and a thermoplastic film fraction. After further cleaning and sorting steps, the thermoplastic material is dried and regranulated for reuse. The essentially long-fibred fibrous material component is ground and used with preference in the production of corrugated board raw paper. As a special measure, a certain proportion of finely ground thermoplastic material may be fixed on the fibrous material.
|
