Apparatus which is introduced, together with the clothing or dirty articles, into cleaning processes using washing machines. It consists of three parallel magnets which are held in their mutual positions and separated by a casing made from flexible material, with rounded edges, which leaves ample space free between the magnets. Water circulates around the magnetic apparatus, passes between its magnets and crosses the force lines, sensing the magnetic field produced by the instrument, and the water thus acquires the physical characteristics of magnetic water which is more effective for cleaning and softening clothing and crockery. <IMAGE>
