<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting section for rubber or plastic power cables with insulating cores having different outside diameters which is improved in electric ability by making the interfacial pressures between the left and right premolded rubber insulators and insulating cores in the section appropriate and, at the same time, by eliminating the concentration of electric fields near the rising section of a internal electrode on the small-diameter core side. SOLUTION: A connecting section uses an integral premolded rubber insulator 4, and when the outside diameters of the left and right insulating cores are different from each other, the insulator 4 has an inside diameter suitable for the outside diameters of the left and right insulating cores and the ratio L1 /T1 of the depth L1 of the pocket formed of the projecting section of an internal electrode 42 on the small-diameter insulating core side to the thickness T1 of the pocket, including the insulating thickness of a cable, is set equal to or larger than the ratio L2 /T2 of the depth L2 of the pocket formed of the projecting section of the electrode 42 on the large-diameter core side to the thickness T2 of the pocket, including the insulating thickness of the cable.</p> |
