摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid erroneous lightings becoming hindrance in making a plasma display highly accurate and highly luminous and also to achieve the high speed of operation without adopting a special structure by avoiding write discharges to be generated in a write discharge period from being consecutively generated in time in adjacent pixels while scanning scanning electrodes to disconnect the coupling between display discharge pixels. SOLUTION: Impressing timings of scanning pulses and data pulses to be impressed on scanning electrodes and data electrodes are made to be different from those in a conventional driving method. That is, scanning pulses to be impressed on odd numbered scanning electrodes S1 , S3 , S5 ... are impressed on them every other scanning time. In this state, even numbered scanning electrodes are all scanned by being delayed by four scanning time. In this method, when the number of scanning lines is made to be 480 lines, scanning lines are scanned in order of S1 , S478 , S3 , S480 , S5 , S2 , S7 , S4 ,.... Moreover, the scanning electrodes are scanned in order of S1 , a pause, S3 , a pause, S5 , S2 ,..., S479 , S476 , a pause, S478 , a pause, S480 as another scanning method.
