PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid laser amplifier which can accomplish the amplification of a saturation laser, using the output laser beam of a pulse laser amplifier of relatively low output as a seed beam. SOLUTION: A passivity-eight-times path solid laser amplifier is constituted by making the input/output face of a photo-excited hexagonal zigzag slab solid laser medium 15 roughly vertical to a pulse laser beam, and using a quarter wavelength plate 11, a full reflection mirror 12, a polarized beam splitter 5, and a full reflection mirror 6. The heat birefringence produced by the laser medium 15 photo-excited with good symmetry by a flash lamp or an LD 9 is compensated by a 90 deg. optical rotator 10 made of quartz. The laser beam of s straight polarization reflected at a polarized beam splitter 3 is outputted outside as a pulse laser output beam 13. |
