PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single element optical system for a passive facet tracking optical scanning system. SOLUTION: In the double bounce passive facet tracking system inducing light beams 32 and tracking facets of a rotary polygon mirror 36 by using the single passive optical element of a toroidal mirror 40, characteristics of the toroidal mirror 40 are that the output light beams from the rotary polygon mirror 36 are converged on a sagittal plane with facets to be collimated on a tangent plane and the collimated lights are perpendicular to the rotary shaft of the polygon mirror 36. |
