PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear reactor whose complicatedness can be reduced sharply more than that of the configuration of a well-known boiling water reactor. SOLUTION: A nuclear reactor contains a heat pipe 12 which transmits heat from a reactor pressure vessel 10 to a syeam supply vessel 20. In the nuclear reactor, the heat pipe 12 contains an evaporator section 26 arranged inside the pressure vessel 10, a condenser section 28 arranged inside the steam supply vessel 20 and a heat-insulating section 30 which is extended between the evaporation section 26 and the condenser section 28 and by which a fluid communicates with both sections 26, 28. The heat-insulating section 30 contains a cylindrical outside sleeve 32 and a cylindrical inside sleeve 34, a ring-body region 36 is formed between both sleeves 32, 34, and a fluid communicates with the steam supply vessel 20. An insulating layer 38 covers the inner wall of the outer sleeve 32. A ring-shaped core member is arranged so as to be adjacent to the inside wall of the inside sleeve 34, and a steam passage is partitioned by the inside of the core member.
