PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible control according to the output destination with a common power amplifier and to provide an inexpensive electronic musical instrument easy to handle by automatically detecting the presence of insertion of a headphone jack and correcting a frequency according to the output destination based on the detection result. SOLUTION: This instrument is provided with a switch means switching a circuit emitting a sound based on the detection result of a detection means 34 detecting that the headphone jack is inserted, a first storage means 33 storing the detection result and a second storage means 32 storing a frequency correction value applied to the power amplifier 11 answering to the result detected by the detection means 34. A read-out means 31 reads out the frequency correction value according to the presence of the insertion of the headphone jack from the second storage means 32. A correction means 10 corrects a frequency characteristic of a sound emitted from a speaker 13 or the headphone 16 based on the frequency correction value.
