PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection film which has significantly low reflectance in all over the visible wavelength region and can prevent reflection of the P component and reflection of the S component of light to almost in the same degree in all over the visible wavelength region. SOLUTION: This antireflectlon film consists of plural thin layers laminated on a substrate material The refractive index n1 of the first layer formed nearest to the medium to which light enters ranges 1.35<ni <1.50, and the refractive index ni (i=2, 3, 4...) of the second or i-th layer from the medium ranges 1.56<ni <2.40. The refractive index n. of the second layer formed as the second order from the medium to which light enters, and the refractlve index n3 of the third layer formed as the third order satisfy 1.85<ni <2.40 i=2 or 3) and n2 >n3 . |
