SOLUTION: A three-speed lock-up line (a) and a four-speed lock-up line (c) at the time of lean combustion are set on a larger throttle side than a lock-up line (e) at the time of lean combustion prohibited (four-speed is also prohibited), and a three-speed lock-up release line (b) and a four-speed lock-up release line (d) at the time of lean combustion are also set on a larger throttle side than a lock-up release line (f) at the time of lean combustion prohibited. Consequently, lock-up is not carried out in a fuel consumption mode where torque is small, and operability is never deteriorated. The lock-up line (e) and the release line (f) during the time of lean combustion prohibited when torque is large are set on a higher car speed side than the release lines (b), (d). Consequently, no lock-up is carried out in a low car speed region where lock-up causes a judder and it is possible to avoid a trouble of the judder.
