PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a stable display operation by adjusting the light emission luminance of a plasma display device for a prescribed time after the supplying of a power source according to the detection output of a power source supply detecting means detecting that the power source is supplied to a plasma display device to reduce transient fluctuations of a power source circuit or the like at the time of supplying of the power source. SOLUTION: A power source supplying detecting circuit 22 detects the supplying of the power source to supply the detection output to a controller 20, which performs the operation control of the whole of a plasma display device according to the software preliminarily stored in a ROM. At this time, a luminance adjusting control is executed in response to the detection output supplied from the power source supply detecting circuit 22 through the controller 20 for a prescribed time from the supplying of the power source. A gain adjusting circuit 3 supplies respective adjusted R, G, B pixel data obtained according to the gain adjusting signal supplied from the controller 20.
