<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the obtaining of the signal of the transparent image of an object of any form by providing an element array in which a plurality of photoelectric converting elements are one-dimensionally aligned and a plurality of scintillation fibers each connected to the photoelectric converting elements. SOLUTION: This radiation detector comprises an X-ray tube 10 which irradiates an object T with X-rays, a signal processing circuit 11, a calculator 12, a monitor 13, etc., and the ends of scintillation fibers 2 are arranged at a location opposed to the tube 10 and behind the subject T. A portion of the X-rays which comes out from the tube 10 and passes through the subject T enters the ends of the fibers 2 and is converted to light. This light propagates through the fibers to be guided to a photodiode array A and converted to electric signals at every channel. Processing, such as amplification is performed on these signals by a signal processing circuit 11. The processed signals are guided to a calculator 12 and converted to the signals of the transparent image of the subject by suitable data processing, and then displayed on a monitor 13 as an image.</p> |
