PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode plate for a sealed lead-acid battery which can prevent the battery from reaching a thermal runaway by restraining an increase in a trickle charging current value. SOLUTION: Fining agent powder (BaSO4 powder) which has the same crystal shape as a discharge product material (PbSO4 ) and becomes a crystal nucleus, is contained in a negative electrode active material layer. Powder (powder close to a spherical shape), on which the ratio S2/S1 of the total surface area 52 of the whole fining agent powder found by a BET method to a value S1 by multiplying the surface area of a sphere calculated by using a median diameter of the fining agent powder found by a laser diffraction system particle size distribution measuring method as a diameter and the powder number becomes equal to or smaller than 2.2, is used as the fining agent powder (BaSO4 powder). |
