PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly maintain the breakdown voltage of wires for supplying power to a commercial high-pressure discharge lamp to be housed in a hood so as to manufacture the wires simply and efficiently. SOLUTION: Of power supply wires 10 having their silicone-insulation layer and connected to a high-pressure discharge lamp 2 in a hood 4, only a portion substantially equal to a portion A to be wired in the hood 4 is covered with a heat resistant layer consisting of fluororesin or the like on the insulation layer surface thereof. This power supply wire can be manufactured by a method in which a heat resistant resin based tube of its prescribed length having an inner diameter substantial equal to an outer diameter of the wire main body having a conductor and an insulation layer is molded, the wire main body is inserted into this tube, and the tube is attached to a prescribed portion of this wire main body. |
