PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulk chip alignment feeder which is lessened in external dimensions, reduced in initial cost, and capable of being kept free from trouble that a guide groove is bocked, by a method wherein a case is made to pivot in a vertical position, bulk chips are introduced into a guide groove taking advantage of their own weight and aligned, then the case is returned to a horizontal position, and the bulk chips are taken out of the case. SOLUTION: Bulk chips 42 are stocked in an empty space 43, and a bulk cassette 23 is held in a vertical position. The bulk chips 42 inside a hopper 44 are introduced into a guide groove 47 and get sliding down in the groove 47. When the bulk cassette 23 is kept in a vertical position, a front wall 46 of the hopper 44 forms a funnel path fronting the recess of the upper stringer of a case, so that the bulk chips 42 are smoothly guided into the guide groove 47. When the bulk cassette 23 is switched in attitude from a vertical position to a horizontal position, bulk chips stacked up in a heap in the funnel path collapse and fall into the hopper. There-fore, even if it occurs that a guide groove is blocked with bulk chips, the guide groove is capable of recovering from blockage. |
