The device comprises a flat die in the form of a plate (2) which is initially pushed in between the bristles (4a) at the sides of the brush and which protrude beyond the bristles (4) of the central part of the brush. The flat plate has a central opening which is in line with the central part of the brush so that in a second movement the plate can be pushed down while pushing the side bristles (4a) further sideways.
