Metallised film capacitor and production process

The metallised film capacitor has a dielectric films of a plastic material (1). On one surface there is formed a metal vapour deposited electrode (2) that is an alloy of zinc and aluminium and has a mesh form. The electrode on the other surface (2a) does not have a mesh form. The electrodes have regions (5) of high electrical resistance. The edges (6) of the film define areas where the high resistance ends. The electrode mesh lines can be angled or straight.
