<p>A coating composition comprising a polymercapto compound, such as a polymercaptocarboxylic ester of an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol, a particular polyisocyanate compound of a carbodiimide, aliphatic polyhydric alcohol adduct, isocyanurate or other type, and optionally a polyol; and a coating method using the above composition which can rapidly cure even at room temperature in the presence of a gaseous amine catalyst and can yield an even coating by electrostatic coating or the like. The resultant coating possesses an excellent anticorrosive property, is less likely to be separated even under very cold or very hot conditions, and is useful for heavy-duty protection and other applications. A coating method using a plastic as a substrate can provide coated foams possessing excellent water resistance and other properties.</p> |
