Hardenable phosphazene-based compositions

Hardenable compositions (I), which in the uncured state contain: (A) phosphazene derivative(s) of formula NP-(X-Y-Z)2n (II); (where X = -O-, -S-, -NH- or -NR- (with R = 1-6C alkyl); Y = aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic and/or heteroaromatic hydrocarbon groups, optionally containing O, S and/or N; Z = OH, NH2, NCO, COOH, CHO, -CH=CH2, allyl, N-methylol, (meth)acrylate, silyl, glycidyl or epoxy, or precursors of residues of these groups, or residues of these groups blocked with protecting groups; not more than 4 groups Z may also be H; n = 3-10); and (B) crosslinker(s) with at least 2 functional groups as listed for Z, which are capable of reacting with Z in component (A). Preferably the NP residues are combined in the form of phosphazene rings, with n = 3 or 4, preferably 3. X = O. Y = 1-10C alkylene, oxyalkylene, alkylene-phenyl or alkylene-carboxyphenyl, or phenylene, biphenylene, alkoxy- phenylene or oxyphenylene, preferably -Phe-CH2-, -Phe-O-CH2-, -Phe-O-C2H4- (with Phe = 1,4-phenylene), or 1,4-phenylene, 1-10C alkyl-phenylene or 1-10C alkylcarboxyphenylene.
