Safe with anti-theft walls

The walls comprise firmly joined sandwich plates (10,12,14) cut from standard sandwich material which has a continuous structural layer (16) with firmly applied continuous protective layer (18). At least two of the plates may be abutted on one edge of the safe and be fitted with a protective part (32) as close as possible to their abutment. This part is also of sandwich plate material with outer and inner structural layers (36,34). The sandwich plate material for the protective part may be identical to that of the walls. The protective part may be in the form of a strip and is mounted on the inside of a first plate whose endface is covered over by the second plate. One side edge of the part engages a groove in the upper of the abutted sandwich plates. The protective layer may consist of anti-cut layer (20) and an anti-impact layer (22) applied to the first layer.
