An improved tracing device using a spirit level is disclosed. The device comprises a first portion (1) joined at a 90 DEG (3) to a vertical portion (2) with graduations (4) by means of a profiled projection (5) and a matching recess (6), said portions being held together by an insert (7). Said device is particularly useful for tracing, inter alia, in the construction industry.
