METHOD FOR DESIGNING WELDING TRANSFORMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily obtain a design constant of welding transformer primary turns and a transformer weight by setting a frequency of a primary current energized to a welding transformer based on turns ratio of a welding transformer, a current change amount per unit time and skin effect and stray loss of a primary winding. SOLUTION: A maximum frequency which a primary current I1 can take is obtained by setting a value of a current change amountΔI1 /Δt per unit time in rise time and fall time of the primary current I1 from turns ratio of a transformer 13. When a transformer weight is obtained from the maximum frequency or when a sectional area of a primary winding 13A is set, a frequency of the primary current I1 is set considering skin effect and stray loss of the primary winding 13A which are factors of thermal characteristic. A transformer weight or a sectional area of the primary winding 13A is obtained from the frequency.
