Granular additive with a bulk weight of at least 500 g/l, used in granular washing or cleaning agents also having bulk weights of at least 500 g/l - contains one or more anionic surfactants and at least one further component normally added late in the detergent preparation process. Apart from the anionic surfactant the additive contains at least one component chosen from bleach activators, bleach catalysts and pre-formulated anti-foaming agents. Also claimed are (i) granular washing or cleaning agents having bulk weights of at least 500 g/l, comprising at least two granular compounds, one of which is the above additive and (ii) the preparation of the additives.
