<p>Golf's century old problem of high scores in excessive time is solved by these methods. The Tee Golf<TM> method of enhanced score golf play with a Tee (or "T") handicap, the unrestricted use of teeing the ball after the first shot, except in hazards and greens, improves scores and reduces time of play approximately 30 % respectively. Other methods include a Tee Distance (TD) handicap, which allows handicap strokes to be taken in distance. Tee Distance golfers play to the equivalency of a 0 handicap, rather than a traditional substracted net. Distance (D) golf also substitutes handicap strokes for distance, but the ball is played down, as it has. Legitimizing Tee Scramble handicaps of 2 to 5 players is also advocated. This promotes official recognition of high handicaps and stimulates golf growth. Distance tapes extended from the starting point of each golf hole toward the green, that allow Distance (D) golfers to determine precise starting points. Courses with no Distance tapes would paint a yardage measure near the starter, to allow Distance (D) golfers to practice pacing accuracy. Middle fairway cart paths serve the multi purpose of environmental damage control, a golf time saver, and a distance guide. Official recognition of the gimme putt is advocated in regular play. Putters are marked with a gimme line measured from the head to the shaft or putter grip. Gimme radius circles can be marked around cups.</p> |
