Tube made of zinc or alloys thereof for sheet metal working. The tube is derived from a curved plate (10) and its edges (11, 12) are butt-welded with a continuous weld (15) by melting them without additional material. The invention also relates to the process for manufacturing tubes made of zinc or alloys thereof for sheet metal working that consists in shaping the tube by continuous forming of a basic rolled part (10), arranging the edges (11, 12) thereof side by side and pressing them perfectly end to end against each other, and in then locally continuously melting the edges in a controlled atmosphere, with fume control and so that immediate oxidation of the material after melting does not occur, with a TIG beam producing controlled and localized heat energy. <IMAGE> |
