The invention relates to an implement for spreading material, having a frame (1) and, mounted thereon, a hopper (2). The implement further comprises an electronic measuring device (80) including a clinometer and indication means providing the farmer with information about the angle at which the implement is situated relative to a reference plane. The indication means include a device with visual indication giving the angle at which the implement is situated relative to the reference plane. The indication means further include a loudspeaker by means of which an acoustic signal is supplied that is normative for the angle at which the implement is situated relative to the reference plane.
