A disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper, comprising a medium viscosity faeces storage material having an improved ability to store in particular medium low viscosity faeces. Such materials are characterised in having a faeces storage capacity of at least 20 g/g, preferably of more than 35g/g, when tested according to the described test for medium viscosity faecal storage capacity.
