PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treating agent for lowering the friction of a raw thread for a seatbelt or a seatbelt webbing excellent in initial slipping properties, housing properties and durability by blending a specific polyether-polyester with a silicone-based compound and/or an extreme-pressure agent component. SOLUTION: This treating agent for lowering the friction capable of being applied to a raw thread and/or a webbing for a seatbelt is obtained by blending >=30wt.% polyether compound having 1,000-3,000cSt viscosity and 1,000-3,000 average molecular weight based on the total amount of the treating agent with silicone-based compound such as dimethylpolysiloxane and/or an extreme- pressure agent such as an oleic acid soap. A treating liquid comprising an aqueous emulsion containing the 1-20wt.% treating agent for lowering the friction as an active ingredient and having both <=35 dyne/cm surface tension at 25 deg.C and <=15sec penetrating properties measured by a canvas method is prepared and imparted to a fiber so as to attach to the fiber in 0.05-5wt.% to provide the raw thread for a seatbelt. |
