PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact steering intermediate shaft device easily assembled into a car body, which is capable of increasing a shrinking range at the time of impacts and improving working efficiency. SOLUTION: A buffer joint D is provided, which includes an input shaft A, a connecting shaft B fixed to the input shaft in its shaft peripheral direction and slid in its shaft longitudinal direction with respect to the input shaft A only at the time of impacts, an output shaft C fixed to the connecting shaft B in its shaft peripheral direction and slid in its shaft longitudinal direction and a an output side yoke member 14 connected to a cup member 13 via an elastic material 15 in the shaft end part of the output shaft C, and the output shaft C and the cup member 13 include through-parts to be penetrated by the connecting shaft B in the shaft longitudinal direction. |
