PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink having excellent liquid stability, giving a recorded material having excellent magenta color tone and a clear printed letter by using a specific magenta dye and a specific water-soluble organic solvent. SOLUTION: This ink is produced by dissolving (A) a magenta dye in a mixture of (B) water and (C) a water-soluble organic solvent. The component A contains Color Index No. Acid Red 52 as an essential component and the component C contains 1,5-pentanediol as an essential component. Preferably, the amount of the component A is 0.1-5wt.% and that of 1,5-pentanediol of the component C is 5-50wt.% based on the total amount of the ink. The component B is preferably deionized water and its amount is 10-95wt.%, preferably 10-70wt.% based on the total weight of the ink. The ink is suitable for ink-jet recording, has high fixing rate to the recording object and gives a dense and clear printed letter. |
