<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oily ballpoint pen ink composition that contains a coloring material, solvent, a resin and a sodium salt of an N-alkyloylmethyltaurine so as to be usable without becoming faint when used again after being kept long unused. SOLUTION: This oily ballpoint pen ink composition comprises (A) a coloring material preferably in a quantity of 10-95wt.%, (B) a solvent, preferably in a quantity of 35-80%, (C) a resin, preferably in a quantity of 5-50wt.%, and (D) a sodium salt of an N-alkyloylmethyltaurine, preferably in a quantity of 0.5-3wt.%. Preferably, as the component (B), glycol-based solvents, glycol ether- based solvents, etc., may be used; as the component (C), maleic resin, epoxy resin, etc., may be used; and as the component (D), N-sodium salt of lauroylmethyltaurine, etc., may be used. This composition secures compatibility of the component (D) with the dyes and affinity of the ink with the metal surface, so that the ink can maintain fluidity at the tip of the pen when drying at the tip and can be smoothly transferred to the ball when the ball is turning, and delivered out.</p> |
