METHOD FOR INTERPRETATION OF LEUKOCYTIC REACTION IN BLOOD CAUSED BY POSTOPERATIVE STRESS

FIELD: medicine; surgery. SUBSTANCE: postoperative patient's blood samples are taken daily during 8-10 days, operation day is regarded as zero one. Leukocyte number in blood is determined and trajectory is plotted to reflect leukocytic reaction variations. Identical trajectory for patients with noncomplicated course is taken as reference one. If any patient's trajectory coincides with reference one or approximates it, conclusion is drawn that given patient's postoperative period follows noncomplicated course, but if patient's trajectory deviates from reference one, complicated postoperative period case is stated.
