PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety belt device which requires less necessary space in a position adjacent to a belt buckle fixing device and can be shortened in the cylinder axial directional overall length by omitting necessity for installation of a lateral chamber, which is provided with a firing material and connected to the inside of a cylinder, and installation of a cable deflecting device. SOLUTION: A safety belt device 1 is provided with a belt buckle 3 and a belt fastening device 7 working on the belt buckle 3 via a traction cable 5. The belt fastening device 7 is operated by means of a gas generator 11 and includes a piston/cylinder unit fixed to a body or a seat in a vehicle. When the belt fastening device 7 is operated, the belt buckle 3 is moved in the same direction as the piston 15 of the piston/cylinder unit. |
