<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for making charcoal, wherein public nuisances such as malodors and smoke can be prevented and the fuel consumption can be reduced by fully utilizing the carbonization gas. SOLUTION: This apparatus consists of a combustion furnace 1, a fixed carbonization vessel 2, an agitation paddle 34 disposed in the vessel 2 in a freely rotatable manner, a driving mechanism 37 for rotating the paddle 34, a main burner 8, a carbonization gas path 10 for discharging the carbonization gas produced in the vessel 2 from the vessel 2, and a carbonization gas burner. It is further provided with an air pre-heating section for pre-heating the air for during the carbonization gas with a chimney 7 and sending the pre-heated air to the carbonization gas burner and a means for decreasing the pressure in the vessel 2.</p> |
