PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially extend the edge components of sipes in a pneumatic tire and improve its performance on icy roads, by grooving the blocks of the tire with sipes including a corrugated part composed of a plurality of slant components which are all slanted in the same direction at a specific slant angleαwith respect to the circumferential direction of the tire. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire has in its tread a plurality of blocks 5 which are defined by the provision of longitudinal grooves extending in the circumferential direction of the tire and lateral grooves extending to cross over the longitudinal grooves and are formed with sipes 6 extending in the substantial axial direction of the tire. The sipe 6 includes a corrugated part 7 of at least one periodic length and of amplitude H of 2 to 10mm. The corrugated part 7 comprises a plurality of slant components p1, p2, p3, p4 and p5 slanted in the same direction at slant anglesαof 30 to 80 deg. with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire, and connection parts m1, m2, m3 and m4 smoothly connecting the ends of adjacent slant components to alternately form the crests U and the troughs D of the amplitude of the corrugated part 7. |
