FIELD: methods of production of fibers from natural basalt; may be used at plants producing glass fibers and fibers from natural basalt. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of basalt, its melting and homogenization by means of passing of electric energy through basalt melt with the help of at least two electrodes in each zone. In this case specific power consumption per kilogram of melt in melting zones, homogenization and melt supply to spinneret feeder shall be at least 5 kW and electrodes shall be spaced at 100-700 mm.
