SUBSTANCE: built-up transmission uses intermediate shafts of main and additional sections of transmission which are coaxial and are supported only by bearings in front and rear end walls of transmission case. Main shaft is supported only by taper surfaces on its front and rear ends which rest against complementary taper surfaces or are carried by rear end of input shaft and front end of output shaft.
