FIELD: welding; compositions of electrode wires for welding and facing of articles from high-carbon steels operating at high loads. SUBSTANCE: electrode wire contains the following components, wt.-%: carbon, 0.06-0.1; chromium, 0.9-1.2; silicon, 0.4-0.70; manganese, 1.55-1.8; molybdenum, 0.5-0.7; vanadium, 0.2-0.45; sulfur, 0.025-0.04; phosphorus, 0.025-0.030; calcium, 0.05-0.20; iron, the balance. Ratio of carbon content to total content of calcium and manganese is 0.066-0.87, and ratio of sulfur content to total content of calcium and manganese is 0.015-0.02. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 tbl
