The torsion members (6) are twisted when the mating male terminal (20) contacts the contact members (4). There is no plastic deformation of the contact members (formed by punching out and bending a flat metal plate) when the mating male terminal is engaged and connected, even in cases where the spring length of the contact members is short. |
