AQUEOUS INK FOR INK-JET RECORDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink capable of preventing ink clogging at the tip part of a printer head and burning in printing by mixing a pigment in an amount of a specific range with a dispersant in an amount of a prescribed range and specifying the specific heat and thermal conductivity of the ink in specified ranges. SOLUTION: This ink comprises (A) 2-5wt.% of a pigment and (B) 0.5-6wt.% of a polymer dispersant and has a specific heat of >4.00J/gK to 4.15J/gK and 0.1×10<-3> to 50×10<-3> W/(cm.deg) thermal conductivity. Preferably, the ink has 0.3-30cps viscosity at 25 deg.C and pH 9.5-13.0. A copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid derivative is especially preferably used as the component B. Consequently, an ink suitable for an ink-jet recording method utilizing especially heat energy can be provided.
