Light generator for plastics-based fibre optic cables

The light generator has a lamp (1), without surrounding reflectors, radiating omni-directional light. The light can be received by a number of luminous flux outputs (4). Light beams are focused by a focussing array (6). Cooling is effected by a circulating air structure which forms a chicane and also reduces noise levels.
