Method of storage of liquid helium

The method is for the transfer of liquid helium from a container to a receiving container via a transfer line. The receiving container (r2.R2) is held at a lower pressure than the dispensing container (R1). The helium liquid in the transfer line is surrounded by helium gas (8-8'') between the dispensing and receiving containers via an intermediate container and the gaseous helium is recovered opposite to the receiver container. The gaseous helium can be recovered via a compressor (5,18) which ensures the pressure difference necessary for transfer.
