The use of an aqueous solution of a lower alcohol with the addition of a low molecular weight polycarboxylic acid (I), an ester of salt of sorbic acid (II), a multivalent alcohol (III), an aliphatic acid or its salt (IV), an anionic surfactant (V) and/or a sulphur free triazole compound (VI) as a secondary refrigerant is claimed. Also claimed is the use of a highly dispersed silicic acid as a sedimentation inhibitor in aqueous lower alcohol solutions acting as liquid-ice mixtures. |
