Gas flue thermal insulation system

The insulation in a gas flue consists of an outer cladding of insulation material (7) and sheet metal walls (8) in the inner passage. The pressure-resistant crimped rectangular metal walls are oriented in the correct direction by a combination of rail clamps (17), nuts (23) and bolts (19) at their edges, but move freely on guide rails (13) within a limited range. The rails are linked to the housing wall (5) by spacers (24) which pass through the insulation material. The spacers consist of two components (25,26) which have a limited bending range of movement with respect to each other. The spacer components in the gas passage also enjoy limited movement with respect to the rails with which they are joined. Ceramic washers (32) provide heat insulation between the spacers on both sides of the wall.
