The support has a fastening device (3,4) which is adjustable through a step-up gear (15). The gear synchronises the setting and expansion angle of the fastening device and joins them during the positioning of the transverse stabilisers. The gear can turn the two parts of the fastening device in an opposite way when setting the angle of expansion, but in the same way when fixing the standing angle. Synchronised adjustment of the angle is afforded by an angle limiter and the fastening device swivels between 10 and 90 deg relative to the firing direction of the bow. The gear is rotatably and slidably placed within the support (1) housing (2). The gearing rotates about its longitudinal axis (34) and comprises two gears (16,17) which have the same diameter and pitch and are arranged between two semi-cylindrical gear shells. The fastening device comprises tapped pins whose free ends protrude in strap form (6,7) terminating in gears (9,10) to mesh with the step-up gears.
