<p>The present invention provides a method for the prophylactic and/or therapeutic treatment of tumor growth and/or metastasis comprising administering to a human being or other mammal a medicament or nutritional formulation comprising at least one amino acid selected from the group consisting of glycine, alanine, serine, and physiologically acceptable salts of glycine, alanine and serine in an amount which is effective for preventing and/or inhibiting tumor growth and/or metastasis. Also provided is a method for inhibiting increased cell proliferation comprising administering to a human being or other mammal a medicament or nutritional formulation comprising at least one amino acid selected from the group consisting of glycine, alanine, serine, and physiologically acceptable salts of glycine, alanine and serine in an amount which is effective for inhibiting increased cell proliferation.</p> |
