A cylinder head gasket (1) is provided with a shim ring (5), which surrounds a combustion chamber hole (2A) of a gasket body (2). The shim ring is spot welded circumferentially along weld lines (5a, 5b) such that pitches of the spot welding are varied to form high weld density regions (H, H, H) and low weld density regions in a circumferential direction of the shim ring. Pitch of spot welding in the high weld density regions is one which would generate strain in the shim ring due to heat at the time of welding in the case where the entire circumference of the shim ring were spot welded at such pitch. Inclusion of the low weld density regions can prevent strain in the shim ring to enhance a welding strength.
