<p>A magnetic head loading port (6) is defined in such a manner as to extend from a part of a side surface (4) of a cassette shell (2) to an upper surface (21), the side surface (4) and a bottom surface (22) in a radial direction. A shutter member (8) slidable on the cassette shell (2) opens and closes a recess (6) for receiving the magnetic head. This shutter member (8) comprises a sheet member including an upper sleeve portion (81) for covering the head-receiving recess (6) open to upper surface (21), a shutter portion (82) for covering the head-receiving recess (6) open to the side surface (4) and a lower sleeve portion (83) for covering the head-receiving recess (6) open to the bottom surface (22), each of these members being continuous to each other in a U-shaped sectional shape. As the shutter portion reciprocates along the surface of the cassette shell, it opens and closes the head-receiving recess (6). In this way, the cassette shell of the magnetic disk cartridge can be made stable and rigid to an extent such that the head-receiving recess does not easily undergo deformation, and the shutter member slidably fitted to the cassette shell can always slide smoothly.</p> |
